Community rules, in plain language

These summarize the content rules in our Terms of Use. The Terms are what count.

Do

  • Criticize decisions, budgets, quotes, processes and how meetings were run.
  • Share minutes, notices and levy proposals, after blacking out names and unit numbers.
  • Summarize engineering reports and contractor bids, and quote the key lines.
  • Say "I think" or "in my opinion" when it's an opinion.

Don't

  • Name or identify other owners or residents, or post their unit, arrears, complaints or photos.
  • Accuse anyone of fraud, theft, kickbacks or incompetence unless you can prove it.
  • Upload the strata lawyer's advice, or things you were told in confidence on council.
  • Post whole third-party reports or bids, harass anyone, or advertise.

Good: "Council approved the $1.2M quote without a second bid. I think we should have tendered it."
Not OK: "The president in unit 304 is getting a kickback from the contractor."
